Be sure to download the correct CS license profile. More information about each profile is explained in this article. If it is still unclear which license you need, please consult your responsible sales person to assist you.

Uninstall the previously installed CS software version. If you have windows, use the 'control panel' -> 'programs and feature' tool to ensure a complete uninstall. If the older CS software is not uninstalled before the newest version is installed, it may result in faulty behavior. For example, the 'file type not supported' error can occur when opening a kitfile.

Certain releases of Controls Studio software, have additional (new) tools or big, impactful features. The Controls Studio dongle license requires an update when an old Controls Studio software is updated to a newer one, and a new tool was added.
