While using ControlsStudio (CS) you may encounter one of the following error codes. What they mean exactly, and what you can do to resolve them, is described below.
Feature access denied (H0005)
CS uses different profiles. Each profile has access to certain features or tools. This, inter alia, allows a differentiation between an OEM and an end user. The different users are trekker, mountaineer and aviator. To learn more about the users and their corresponding tools, consult
this article. Each profile can access CS via their own software. The CS software is downloadable
via our support website. Via the USB dongle licences, a record is kept of who has which profile.
The 'Feature access denied' error will occur when for example, a trekker user (with a trekker license) downloads the Aviator software. In this case, the trekker user is denied access to certain features since the license does not support it. To resolve this, verify if you have downloaded the CS software, correspondent to your CS license.
Sentinel key not found (H0007)
To gain access to the CS software, a valid CS dongle license is required. This license is validated trough the USB-dongle. The 'Sentinel Key not found' error will be displayed when the CS software can not detect the USB-dongle. In this case, verify if the USB-dongle is inserted correctly, and properly recognised by your PC.
Feature not found (H0031)
Certain releases of Controls Studio software, have additional (new) tools or big, impactful features. The Controls Studio dongle license requires an update when an old Controls Studio software is updated to a newer one, and a new tool was added. All softwares before CS 2.3.0.1 (released on 11/12/2020) require a dongle license update to be compatible with CS 2.4.0.0 (released on 21/12/2020) and later versions.
Your CS dongle license requires an update when the 'feature not found' error message is displayed during the start-up process of CS. In this case, the CS program is nonfunctional due to an outdated CS dongle license. To request a dongle update, consult
this article.
Feature has expired (H0041)
The CS licenses are active for a predetermined period. If your licence has expired, and you try to start the CS software, the 'Feature has expired' error will be displayed. In this case, consult your corresponding salesperson or BDM to assist you for a license renewal.
File Type not supported
This is a more general fault message. This can inter alia occur when the CS program experiences an issue when trying to read a certain file or a kit. to prevent this error from occuring, you can take into account different "good practices".
- Always uninstall the previously installed CS software version before installing a newer version. If you have windows, use the 'control panel' -> 'programs and feature' tool to ensure a complete uninstall. If the older CS software is not uninstalled before the newest version is installed, it may result in faulty behavior.
- Keep a clean folder and kit structure. Mixing up kits, files and softwares could cause unexpected behavior.
