Controls Studio Equipment Outlet Pressure Parameter chain

Controls Studio Equipment Outlet Pressure Parameter chain

This article describes what parameters are interrelated to each other and how they influence each other while attempting to configure the 'equip out' pressure IMM stop, alarm, load- and unload values.

Refer to the below image and table to learn which parameters are chained to each other.

Parameter
Minimum
Maximum
Load pressure
Software dependent
VSD target PRESS - 200mBar
VSD target PRESS
Load pressure + 200mBar
Offload pressure - 200mBar
Offload pressure
VSD Target PRESS + 200mBar
Equip out pressure warning - 200mBar

Offload pressure + 200mBar
Equip out pressure IMM stop alarm - 200mBar
Equip out pressure IMM stop alarm
Equip out pressure warning alarm + 200mBar
Software specific

  1. For safety reasons, it is not possible to for example configure a load pressure that is higher than an offload pressure. This reasoning of safety is why this 'parameter chain' exists.
  2. The Minimum load pressure software limit is 2.2 Bar.
  3. The offload pressure is limited by the equip out pressure alarm and the alarm is limited by the equip out IMM stop.
  4. When Controls Studio lists a maximum or minimum value to be 'DYNAMIC', it means that the value is related to another parameter
  5. Best practice is to start by configuring the "highest value" first. Which is the 'Equip out pressure IMM stop alarm'.
    1. Second, configure the parameter of which it's maximum is limited by the above. Which is the 'Equip out pressure warning alarm'
    2. Continue to configure the parameters in a similar way until you finish the last parameters which is the 'load pressure'.
'VSD target pressure' always needs to be included, no matter what the control mode is used (Fixed speed or VSD).
