How to set-up a remote start/stop configuration on the Q1 controller?

Remote start/stop via digital inputs

A digital input will be used to implement the start/stop function. The function of digital inputs 2 to 7 are adjustable. In the below example DI2 is used.
  1. In the P18.02 menu, set the function of DI 2 to "Remote Start/Stop"
  2. In the P18.03.01 menu, remote start is defined as "Open".
    1. A remote stop will be generated if the contact is 'Open'. A start will be generated when the contact changes from an 'open' state to a 'Closed' state. (Rising flank)
      1. This normally open or closed state cannot be modified, and is fixed.
  3. In the P18.03.02 menu, a delay on the function can be assigned.
    1. The delay will only effect the remote starting, not the remote stop.
  4. There are 2 ways to enable this remote control via digital inputs.
    1. Set Parameter P10.12 'Start Source' to Equipment DI.
    2. Assign a second digital input function as 'Remote Start Enable' in the I/O config page p.18.
    3. when confirmed, a remote start/stop icon  will appear in the upper left corner of the display.

Remote start/stop via communications

  1. Communication terminals X05 and X06 are configurable. In menu page 'Equip settings' P10.
    1. If the communication is issued by a CMCVC product, such as for example a Metacentre, or another controller, the coms terminal has to be configured as 'Airbus485'.
    2. If the commonication is issues by a third party device, configure the coms terminal as 'Modbus Slave' to communicate to it trough the Modbus RTU protocol.
  2. Consult the fieldbus table to learn more about the registers used in the Q-controller.
    1. The fieldbus table is available on the support website.
  3. To enable the remote control via communications, Set parameter P10.12 - Start source to 'Communications'
    1. When confirmed, a remote start/stop icon  will appear in the upper left corner of the display.
The start source (P10.12) can also be configured as 'DI & COMM'. This allows both the digital inputs and communication commands to start and stop the compressor simultaneous. The digital inputs have a higher priority than the communication commands.
Pressing the local stop button on the controller diplays will always result in a stop. Regardless of how the start source is configured.
